In my 19 years as an art therapist, my career journey has taken me from a residential drug/alcohol rehabilitation center for adolescents, to a forensic psychiatric hospital working with adult males, and finally to a pediatric day treatment facility for eating disorders. These jobs exposed me to three of my passions: helping people, visual art, and spending time with children and adolescents.

Throughout the years I have witnessed the power of the art making process. I believe in fostering creativity to allow young people to express their inner thoughts/feelings in a way which words may fail them. Art is a universal language that in many ways young people have already mastered. It is my life’s work to utilize art to help them feel better, more connected to themselves and to the world around them.

I have my Master's Degree in Art Therapy Counseling from Marylhurst University, and am a board certified art therapist with the Art Therapy Credentials Board. I am a licensed certified art therapist with the state of Oregon, and a member of the American Art Therapy Association.
