Services

At Brushfire Studio, I offer 60-minute individual art therapy sessions for children and adolescents in my office located in central Portland, Oregon. Brushfire Studio is part office (with a couch and chairs), but mostly an art studio where my clients use the art process to work towards therapeutic goals that we’ll establish in the beginning of our work together. As is deemed appropriate, I will involve parents in goal-setting and do offer parental coaching as a means to supplement the time I spend in office with your child.

We can use the art-making process to decrease anxiety and depression; help gain insight into thoughts/behaviors/emotions; develop or enrich communication and social skills; increase frustration tolerance; and teach self-soothing skills. My goal for each session is to allow my clients a therapeutic space where they can express themselves in a safe, non-judgmental way. Please understand that one does not need to be an ‘artist’ or think of themselves as ‘artistic’ to participate in art therapy. Your work is about the process, and not necessarily the product. We are not here with the goal of making ‘good’ art, we are here to make art with heart!
